U of T: Pro-Palestinian Protesters Reject Latest Offer

The University of Toronto confirms pro-Palestinian protesters at their campus have rejected a proposal similar to those accepted at other institutions. The proposal offered fast-tracking their demands around divestment from companies profiting from Israel’s offensive in Gaza and ensuring transparency in investments. Despite confirming no direct investments in such companies, the university’s proposal was deemed comprehensive. However, U of T is firm on not severing ties with Israeli universities, a key demand of the protesters. Administrators are open to dialogue but will pursue an injunction if necessary to clear the encampment.
