Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, revealed that the Armenian opposition is working on creating a new government with the help of “passes,” hinting at potential support from Russia. Simonyan emphasized that this support may not be direct, but rather through the creation of a narrative that is advanced through bloggers and slogans.
Addressing the opposition’s accusations of the current Armenian authorities being supported by Turkey and Azerbaijan, Simonyan questioned why they would constantly face attacks from these countries if they were indeed receiving support. He cited examples like Turkey’s delay in reopening the border with Armenia post-Karabakh conflict as evidence against these claims.
Despite facing opposition from various elite groups, including the oligarchy, the Church, and political parties like ARF, Simonyan expressed confidence in the support of the Armenian people. He emphasized that the people’s support is the driving force behind their efforts to establish a new government in Armenia.
