Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Affairs Minister Israel Katz have appointed Danny Danon as the next ambassador to the United Nations.
Danny Danon, a Likud party member of the Knesset, is set to replace Gilad Erdan as the Israeli Ambassador to the UN. Danon, who previously served as Israel’s envoy to the UN from 2015 to 2020, brings extensive international experience to his new role. His appointment is pending Government approval, marking his second term at the UN.
Last November, Danon sparked controversy by urging the international community to accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza. A senior Knesset member, Danon previously served as Deputy Defence Minister during the 2014 Gaza conflict. Known for his strong stance on a one-state solution, he is a vocal advocate for Israel’s interests on the global stage.
With a background in international affairs and public policy, Danon’s appointment reflects Israel’s commitment to presenting its truth and defending its position in the world. As he embarks on this new role, Danon remains dedicated to serving the Israeli people and their future.
