Investing in Clean Energy: Kyrgyzstan’s $16 Billion Opportunity
Kyrgyzstan is seizing the spotlight at the International Investment Energy Forum in Vienna, showcasing 12 clean energy projects with a whopping investment potential of $16 billion. Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, pledged full support and protection for investors, highlighting the projected population and resource demands in Central Asia by 2050.
Japarov emphasized the importance of overcoming challenges like landlocked geography and climate change impacts to unleash the region’s potential. The forum’s focus on Kyrgyzstan’s Kambarata-1 HPP construction project has drawn over 200 international financial institutions and investors from Central Asian, European, and Middle Eastern regions.
This event, organized by the Kyrgyzstan government and supported by the World Bank Group and the Austrian government, underscores the country’s commitment to sustainable energy growth amidst rising global demands and challenges.
