Government Continues Ten Billion Tree Initiative to Combat Climate Crisis

The PML-N-led federal government has decided to continue the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami project, initiated by PTI, to address the climate crisis. They plan to increase the Ministry of Climate Change budget by Rs11.82 billion to combat global warming and promote sustainable development.

An allocation of Rs15.62 billion has been made for the Green Pakistan initiative, formerly known as the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami. This project aims to plant trees nationwide and combat climate change effects. Additionally, a new undisclosed climate change project is proposed, along with Rs1.019 billion for technical capacity enhancement.

The budget also includes Rs15.775 billion for ongoing schemes supporting sustainable development and conservation, with Rs100 million for the Pakistan Biosafety Clearing House and Rs30 million for water quality monitoring improvements.
