‘BJD in turmoil as ‘Missing’ Pandian stirs post-poll defeat’

The recent victory of the BJP in Odisha after 24 years of continuous rule by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has caused turmoil within the latter party.

Party members are pointing fingers at V K Pandian, a former bureaucrat turned politician, for the defeat and demanding action against him.

The youth wing of BJD protested at the party headquarters against leaders who defended Pandian’s absence since June 4.

Naveen Patnaik, the party leader, gave a clean chit to Pandian despite the criticism, causing further controversy.

Speculations are rife about Pandian’s whereabouts and his alleged involvement in negotiations with BJP central leaders.

The BJD has also been accused of misusing government machinery during the elections.

Several senior officers have faced consequences following opposition complaints, indicating a deeper issue within the party’s structure.

The aftermath of the election results has exposed rifts and dissatisfaction among party members and leaders.
