A tragic incident occurred in Utah as a 12-year-old boy from Arizona fell into the Provo River near Bridal Veil Falls and was swept away, resulting in his death.
Despite efforts from multiple agencies and rescuers, the swift water carried the boy 4 miles downstream before he was pulled out near Orem. It was reported that the child’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.
Officials in Utah have issued warnings about the dangerous water levels of the Provo River, urging visitors to stay at least 40 feet away from the riverbanks. The Provo Police Department emphasized the extreme risks involved and advised against recreation near the river until conditions return to normal.
With an “Emergency Level 1” alert issued due to high flows, potential minor flooding along the river is expected. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of exercising caution and respecting nature’s power.
