Switzerland allots M to Ukraine for digitalization and e-gov

The Swiss Federal Council has pledged to continue supporting Ukraine in digitalization and e-governance, with a commitment of CHF 58.7 million over the next four years. This funding, approved during a meeting on June 7, will be channeled through the E-Governance for Accountability and Participation project (EGAP) to promote transparency in the Ukrainian administration. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will oversee the distribution of the funds, which will focus on areas impacted by the conflict and crucial for Ukraine’s future recovery.

Key sectors targeted for support include healthcare, education, and humanitarian demining. Switzerland plans to announce this commitment at the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin on June 11 and 12, 2024. The Swiss government’s decision underscores its ongoing partnership with Ukraine in fostering digital innovation and enhancing governance practices.
