CM Maryam approves historic Punjab Livestock Card

Exciting news for livestock farmers in Punjab as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the first-ever Punjab Livestock Card and Farmer Guidance App. These initiatives will provide interest-free loans for cattle fodder, aiming to support farmers in improving their livestock operations.

In a special meeting held in Murree, CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting economic independence among livestock farmers in Punjab. The projects approved include easy loan provisions for dairy farmers in South Punjab, with an initial focus on 40 thousand farmers. The Livestock Card scheme will also facilitate the export of 400,000 animal meat and provide free animal tagging services.

Furthermore, farmers can access loans for wanda, silage, and mineral mixtures through the Livestock Card scheme, with a repayment period of 30 days. The implementation of an animal identity traceability system in Punjab will further enhance livestock management.

The meeting was attended by senior government officials, including Provincial Minister of Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain and Chief Secretary Zahidakhtar Zaman, highlighting the importance of these initiatives for the agricultural sector in Punjab.
