Protecting the Future: PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Visit to China
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing to discuss the protection of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project from detractors. This visit marks PM Shehbaz’s first to China post-elections and is expected to inaugurate CPEC’s second phase.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding CPEC and supporting each other on core issues. They also emphasized the importance of high-quality development and timely completion of ongoing projects under CPEC.
23 MoUs and agreements were signed to deepen cooperation in various sectors like transport infrastructure, industry, energy, agriculture, and more. PM Shehbaz will further engage with provincial leadership in Xi’an to enhance cooperation in agricultural and green energy sectors.
Overall, the visit aims to strengthen Pakistan-China relations and promote business-to-business cooperation. PM Shehbaz highlighted opportunities for Chinese investments in Pakistan’s taxation, e-governance, and Safe City projects, showing a commitment to attracting foreign direct investment.
