KARACHI: Online Driving License Issuance to be Reactivated Next Week
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Driving License Branch announced the reactivation of online license issuance starting next week. Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon led a meeting to discuss simplifying the process of obtaining a driving license online, with stakeholders present.
The meeting decided to reactivate online issuance of learning and international driving licenses, as well as enable citizens to renew their licenses online. The online platform will also facilitate payment of fees, provide bank details, and require medical fitness certificates. Plans for medical fitness and eye exams for Pakistanis living abroad were also considered.
The IGP emphasized that the online system aims to offer convenient and hassle-free services. Digitization of driving license data with modern technology was also discussed. Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had launched an online driving license renewal facility, particularly for overseas Pakistanis.
