New $225M military aid package to Kyiv from US

New 5M military aid package to Kyiv from US

The US has approved a new arms package for Ukraine, including a variety of weapons systems such as missiles, anti-aircraft systems, armored vehicles, and more. This package comes as part of a larger 95 billion dollar arms deal signed by President Joe Biden, with 61 billion dollars specifically designated for Kyiv.

Following the approval of these bills by the US Congress, the Pentagon announced plans to send Ukraine military aid worth one billion dollars, with an additional 400 million dollars allocated shortly after. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of sending more weapons, stating that it will only prolong the conflict.

Despite criticisms from Russia, the US remains committed to supporting Ukraine through the provision of arms and equipment. The new arms package demonstrates Washington’s continued support for Kyiv in its ongoing conflict with Russia.
