Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Calls on CM Punjab to Investigate PTI Founder’s Facilities in Adiala Jail
PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bukhari has demanded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the additional facilities being provided to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder in Adiala Jail. Bukhari raised concerns about the provision of an exercise machine and a walking track, which are not allowed under the jail manual. He questioned whether other prisoners receive similar privileges.
Highlighting that Adiala Jail falls under the Punjab Home Ministry, Nayyar Bukhari urged Maryam Nawaz to address the matter. He emphasized the need to verify if the facilities for PTI founder comply with the jail manual.
During the NAB amendments case hearing in the Supreme Court, the federal government shared documents and photos of the facilities availed by the PTI founder in jail, including books, an air conditioner, a television, and legal consultations.
