default

Armenian Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, expressed frustration with recent threats and rhetoric aimed at Armenia. He emphasized the need for a clear understanding of Armenia’s obligations as a CSTO partner and a party to the Armenia-Russia treaty. This came in response to Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Galuzin’s statement cautioning against “thoughtless” decisions that could jeopardize cooperation within the CSTO.

Simonyan dismissed any notions of Armenia engaging in military alliances or discussions about foreign military bases. He criticized the use of threatening language and urged for respectful communication. He emphasized Armenia’s independence and sovereign decision-making processes.

Simonyan stated that Armenia will not be swayed by external pressure and will respond appropriately through diplomatic channels. He highlighted the importance of maintaining sovereignty and national security while advocating for respectful dialogue among partners.
