Tinubu Urges Edun for New Minimum Wage Plan in 2 Days
President Bola Tinubu has taken a proactive step in the negotiation of the new minimum wage by directing the Minister of Finance to present a realistic and sustainable figure within two days. This decision was made after a closed-door meeting involving government representatives and organized labor, as disclosed by Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris.

President Tinubu is committed to the welfare of Nigerians and is prepared to accept the committee’s resolutions regarding the minimum wage. The government is looking to strike a balance between its commitments and the country’s realities.

The President has also instructed government representatives to collaborate with the private sector and sub-nationals to come up with a new, affordable, and sustainable wage award for Nigerians. All parties involved in the negotiation aim to present a new minimum wage within one week.

This development shows the government’s willingness to engage in constructive dialogue with organized labor and reflects their commitment to fulfilling promises made to the Nigerian people. With all stakeholders working together diligently, a fair and equitable minimum wage agreement is on the horizon.
