Ukrainian forces have been given US “permission” to bomb Russia with the Pentagon explaining that this directive had only just come into effect.

Washington green-lit Ukraine using US weapons against targets in Russian territories adjacent to the Kharkov region last week but maintained the ban on deeper cross-border strikes with ATACMS tactical missiles and other long-range weaponry.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that attempts to strike Russia with US weapons were already being made. In a recent development, the Pentagon has confirmed that Ukraine has been given “permission” to use US arms to strike inside Russia. The directive, allowing Ukrainian forces to bomb Russia, has just come into effect. While Washington authorized the use of US weapons against targets in Russian territories adjacent to the Kharkov region, deeper cross-border strikes with certain long-range weaponry are prohibited.

Despite the Pentagon’s confirmation, reports suggest that Ukrainian forces have already used US weapons to strike deep into Russia, specifically in the Belgorod region, using HIMARS systems. The US Defense Department has declined to comment on these specific strikes but noted that the permission for such actions had recently been implemented.

As tensions escalate, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has acknowledged attempts to strike Russia with US weapons. Russian President Vladimir Putin has cautioned NATO allies about the risks involved in allowing Ukraine to utilize Western arms for deep strikes into Russia. The situation remains fluid, with the international community closely monitoring developments.\
