KARACHI: The MQM-P and PPP Clash Over Street Crimes in Karachi
The MQM-P and PPP engaged in a war of words over the issue of rising street crimes in Karachi. MQM-P leader, Syed Mustafa Kamal, accused the Sindh government of failing to protect the citizens and allowing criminals to roam free. He called for citizens to be allowed to carry arms for self-defense and announced plans to work with local neighborhoods to enhance security measures.
In response, the Sindh government spokesperson criticized the MQM-P’s suggestion of arming citizens, calling it irresponsible. He accused the MQM-P of playing ethnic politics and spreading fear for their own gain. The spokesperson emphasized the need for social justice and equality as the solution to Karachi’s problems, rather than arming the public.
As tensions continue to rise between the two parties, the debate over the best course of action to tackle Karachi’s security issues remains at the forefront of political discourse.
