Government increases standard price of wheat flour by 80 characters.

In an effort to align with the Cabinet’s policy on liberalizing flour prices and bread pricing, the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply has announced an increase in the selling price of wheat flour produced by private sector mills and the Al-Juwaideh Mill. The price has been raised by JOD 3.661 per ton, totaling JOD 169.695. Additionally, the selling price of wheat to mills has been raised by approximately JOD 2.585 per ton, now set at JOD 136.200.

To ensure compliance with the new pricing, mills are mandated to supply bakeries with their flour needs and review allocations with the Inventory Management Directorate. Failure to comply will result in the wheat price being set at JOD 251.363 per ton for unauthorized sales or exceeding specified allocations.

Effective June 1st, the decision also establishes extraction rates for unified flour at 78 percent and bran at 22 percent, with other flour types following standard specifications. This move reflects the ministry’s commitment to adjusting prices based on fuel costs and market variables.
