Amanda Knox, the American student who gained worldwide attention during a high-profile murder trial in Italy, expressed bitterness after a recent hearing to clear her name. Knox, along with her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, was accused of the murder of Meredith Kercher in Perugia in 2007.

Despite being acquitted, doubts about Knox’s role persisted, particularly in Italy. Now a mother, Knox returned to Italy for the first time since her release in 2011. A recent court hearing focused on overturning a slander conviction against her due to human rights violations during questioning after the murder.
