2 hurt in Russian strikes on Sumy Oblast
Russian forces launched attacks on 12 communities in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine, on June 4, resulting in injuries to two individuals, as reported by the Sumy Oblast Military Administration. The communities targeted included Khotin, Yunakivka, Mykolaiv, Konotop, Svesy, Novoslobidsk, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, and Shalyhyne.

Throughout the day, the region experienced mortar, artillery, missile, and drone attacks, with a total of 106 explosions in 36 separate incidents. The village of Khotin, with a pre-war population of 2,200, was heavily impacted with 21 explosions.

These attacks signify an escalation of violence in the region, with concerns growing about potential future assaults. The daily shelling near the border with Russia has become a grim reality for residents, highlighting the ongoing threat faced by vulnerable communities.

Fortifications put strain on Sumy Oblast farmers as Ukraine sacrifices farmland for defense.

Viacheslav Dydarenko, a farmer in Myropillia, exemplifies the challenges faced by farmers in the area.
