The federal jury found Thomas guilty of conspiracy, falsifying documents, and committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity. He faces a possible 46-year prison sentence.
Prosecutors revealed that Thomas hired John Perna, a member of the Lucchese Crime Family, to carry out the attack in July 2015. Perna, who pleaded guilty to the crime, received a 2 1/2-year sentence and was released last August. Interestingly, Dina’s boyfriend at the time is now her husband.
