June sees major price cuts in petrol and diesel bringing joy to motorists.

Great news for motorists! All grades of fuel will see significant price cuts in June, bringing relief to South Africans.

The price of both 93 and 95 unleaded petrol will drop by R1.24/l at midnight on Tuesday, along with decreases in diesel prices. The department of mineral resources and energy credits the reduction to lower international fuel prices and the strengthening rand.

The Automobile Association (AA) welcomed the decrease but highlighted that fuel costs are still high, impacting many South Africans. The AA urged the government to review the fuel pricing mechanism to permanently address rising costs for the future.

Starting from June 5, 2024, the new fuel prices will be:

INLAND

* Petrol 93 ULP – R23.91

* Petrol 95 ULP – R24.25

* Diesel 0.05% – R20.96

* Diesel 0.005% – R21.15

COAST

* Petrol 93 ULP – R23.12

* Petrol 95 ULP – R23.46

* Diesel 0.05% – R20.18

* Diesel 0.005% – R20.40
