Intel reveals AI chip tech to compete with Nvidia, AMD

Intel, a leading US chip manufacturer, showcased its latest technologies at Taiwan’s Computex expo, aiming to lead the artificial intelligence revolution despite strong competition from Nvidia, AMD, and Qualcomm. CEO Pat Gelsinger introduced the Xeon 6 processors for servers and shared details about the Lunar Lake chips for AI PCs, emphasizing the importance of AI in driving innovation.

Gelsinger highlighted Intel’s superior performance, energy efficiency, and affordability compared to competitors, such as Nvidia and Qualcomm. The company’s Gaudi systems for advanced AI work were positioned as a cost-effective option. Microsoft also unveiled Copilot+ AI PCs with built-in artificial intelligence features supported by major manufacturers like Dell and HP.

Intel refuted Qualcomm’s claims about their AI PC chips, asserting their own superiority. With AI computers projected to dominate 80% of the PC market by 2028, Taiwan, a key player in semiconductor manufacturing, aims to become an “AI smart island.” Despite geopolitical tensions with China, Taiwan remains a crucial hub for cutting-edge semiconductor production.
