Great news for residents of Edo and Ondo states! The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the Continuous Voter Registration in these states for an additional four days, following appeals from stakeholders.
The registration, initially set to end on Wednesday, has been prolonged until Sunday, allowing more eligible individuals to register. INEC has increased the number of registration centers, including all 36 Local Government offices in the states, in addition to existing centers in wards and state offices in Benin City and Akure.
As of June 3, 2024, a total of 120,458 new voters have signed up during the registration process. Majority of the registrants are youths aged 18-34, with a significant number being students.
INEC urges eligible voters to take advantage of the extension to register, transfer, or update their information on PVCs. This opportunity may not be extended further, so don’t miss out on your chance to participate in the upcoming elections!
