KARACHI: Security guard confesses to killing TikToker, reveals lack of training
The security guard who fatally shot Tiktoker Saad Ahmed near Sakhi Hassan roundabout admitted that he was not trained to use a weapon by the security company. Despite working for eight to nine months, he does not even know the company’s name. The guard, hailing from Waziristan, had difficulties speaking Urdu, as per police officials.
Authorities are yet to determine the motive behind the killing, but suspect that the guard’s training did not meet standard regulations. The incident occurred in Karachi when the guard, identified as Ahmed Gul, shot Saad while he was making a TikTok video near Sereena Mobile Mall in Buffer Zone.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central stated that the guard claimed Saad made gestures towards him during the video recording. The police seized the guard’s weapon and arrested him for further investigation.
It is a tragic incident highlighting the importance of proper training and regulation in the security sector to avoid such devastating outcomes.
