Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat announced the availability of 600,000 local and imported sheep, along with calves and camels, in preparation for Eid al-Adha. At the Government Communication Forum, Hneifat discussed the challenges faced by the agricultural sector due to climate change.
Hneifat mentioned that sacrificial livestock prices vary based on weight, with domestic livestock priced between JD230-JD280 and imported livestock between JD180-JD220. Despite global crises and limited resources, Jordan has achieved self-sufficiency.
To address a lemon shortage, 750 tons of African lemons were imported, leading to a decrease in prices. The Ministry granted licenses for lemon imports from South Africa and Turkey, aiming to meet the local market’s demand.
