Germany to order 200,000 more artillery shells from Rheinmetall
Germany has decided to order an additional 200,000 artillery shells from Rheinmetall to aid Ukraine in its defense against Russia’s aggression.
The order is valued at around 880 million euros, adding to the existing agreement worth 1.2 billion euros. This move is part of Germany’s ongoing support for Kyiv and aims to replenish its military supplies.

The defense contract also includes the establishment of a new production line in Unterluess, Germany, to meet the increased demand. Rheinmetall’s value has surged due to the rise in orders from Ukraine’s Western allies since the conflict began in 2022.

The company is also planning to build an artillery factory in Ukraine, signifying further collaboration between the two countries.

Additionally, Lithuania has signed a deal with Rheinmetall to build an artillery ammunition plant in the country, highlighting the growing cooperation in the defense sector.
