Forum’s Upcoming Focus: On Radar?

The 2024 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is fast approaching, with more than 17,000 participants from 130 countries set to attend the event. Held in Russia’s “northern capital” of St. Petersburg from June 5 to June 8, SPIEF has been a prominent business event since its inception in 1997.

This year’s forum will focus on the theme “Foundations of a Multipolar World – the Formation of New Areas of Growth.” With a significant number of world leaders and officials scheduled to participate, including President Vladimir Putin, SPIEF 2024 is expected to be a platform for discussing key economic development trends and promoting international cooperation.

The agenda includes discussions on multipolarity in global growth, technological leadership, and societal development, among other topics. Participants will engage in more than 150 thematic sessions, covering a wide range of issues related to international relations and economic development.

Notable attendees at SPIEF 2024 will include Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, and leaders from Bolivia, Zimbabwe, Turkey, and the Central African Republic. Oman will also have a special guest status at the forum, aimed at enhancing economic relations with Russia.
