President Biden Accuses Netanyahu of Political Stalling in Gaza Conflict
In a recent interview with Time magazine, U.S. President Joe Biden suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be prolonging the conflict in Gaza for political reasons. Biden expressed uncertainty about whether Israeli forces committed war crimes in Gaza but noted their engagement in inappropriate activities. The President also warned Israel against repeating the U.S.’s mistake of getting involved in endless wars post-9/11.
Meanwhile, Israel’s ultra-Orthodox coalition partners have expressed support for Biden’s proposal to free hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, emphasizing the value of life as a religious obligation. Additionally, the UN has condemned Israel for using unnecessary and disproportionate force in the West Bank, where more than 500 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began. Israel has defended its actions in response to increased attacks.
As the conflict persists, diplomatic tensions escalate, with world leaders and organizations calling for an end to the violence and a peaceful resolution to the longstanding Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
