2024 Lok Sabha Elections: Shashi Tharoor reclaims Thiruvananthapuram seat, defeats Rajeev Chandrashekhar

Congratulations to INC’s sitting MP and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor for securing a fourth consecutive term in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency of Kerala, beating BJP leader and Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar by xxxxxx votes. Chandrasekhar initially led in the counting before conceding ground to Tharoor, while CPI’s Pannyan Raveendran came in third.

The battle for Thiruvananthapuram has always been between INC and CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front. Tharoor’s political career began with a win in the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, followed by two more victories. He declared assets of over Rs 55 crore and a significant income for the financial year.

Tharoor faced multiple FIRs, mainly for promoting enmity between groups. Chandrasekhar aimed to make Thiruvananthapuram an IT city, but his efforts fell short. Despite high hopes, BJP couldn’t secure victory in the constituency.
