Zelensky vows to make Israel stop: Ukraine’s action plan

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky promised to put pressure on Israel to end the ongoing bloodshed in Gaza during his visit to Singapore. Speaking at a security conference, Zelensky acknowledged Israel’s right to defend itself from Hamas terrorists but expressed concerns about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by the Israeli military operations. He emphasized the importance of respecting international law and stated Ukraine’s support for recognizing both Israel and Palestine as separate states. Zelensky also pledged to assist in delivering aid to the besieged enclave to alleviate the suffering of civilians.

Last year, Zelensky lamented that global attention was diverted from Ukraine’s conflict with Russia due to the Gaza situation. While many Western nations have imposed sanctions on Russia, Israel has refrained from taking such actions and providing military support to Ukraine.

Since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict, over 36,000 Palestinians have lost their lives. US President Joe Biden disclosed that Israel had proposed a new ceasefire deal to Hamas, which includes the release of Israeli hostages.
