Russia’s offensive extends beyond Donetsk, targeting regions like Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv. In response, Ukraine sought permission to use U.S.-provided weapons to defend Kharkiv. President Joe Biden approved limited strikes inside Russia to alleviate pressure on Kharkiv.
Meanwhile, in Russia, shelling in Belgorod injured six people, and an official was killed by an explosion. In Kursk, three were injured by an explosive drone attack. The escalation of violence underscores the escalating conflict and the urgent need for a peaceful resolution.
