NATO Kicks Off Ramstein Legacy Air Drills Hosted by Romania, Bulgaria.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – NATO will begin a comprehensive air defense exercise dubbed Ramstein Legacy on Monday in Romania and Bulgaria, aimed at practicing tactical control of the bloc’s integrated air and missile defense. The exercises will be led by NATO’s Allied Air Command and will involve AWACS early warning aircraft, national airborne air defenses, and ground-based air and missile defenses to test interoperability.

A total of 16 countries, including Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, and the United States, are expected to participate in the training until June 14, with Sweden also open to joining. Meanwhile, Vladimir Kulishov, head of the border service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), has raised concerns about NATO’s drills potentially targeting Russian territory with nuclear weapons.
