The Maldives government has imposed a ban on Israeli passport holders in protest against the ongoing conflict in Gaza. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced the ban, along with plans to amend laws and appoint a special envoy to assess Palestinian needs.
Additionally, a fundraising campaign with UNRWA will be initiated, and a nationwide rally under the theme ‘Maldivians in Solidarity with Palestine’ will be organized. In response, Israel advised its citizens to avoid traveling to the Maldives.
Israel’s aggression in Gaza has led to a humanitarian crisis, with thousands of Palestinians killed, wounded, or displaced. The ongoing conflict has sparked international condemnation and calls for justice.
