CPI(M) Condemns Surge in Milk Prices, Highway Toll

The CPI(M) strongly criticized the recent hike in milk prices and highway tolls, accusing the government of burdening the people. The party’s Politburo denounced the increases, stating that they would raise the prices of essential goods and transportation costs, reflecting a lack of consideration for the public’s financial strain.

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury voiced his disapproval of the government’s actions, labeling them as a return to “looting” the citizens. He highlighted the price hike in milk by Amul and Mother Dairy, along with the 5% rise in road toll tax, as further evidence of the government’s indifference towards the people’s well-being.

Mother Dairy’s announcement of a Rs 2 per litre increase in milk prices and NHAI’s decision to raise tolls by 5% have sparked concerns about the cost of living and transportation. The delay in implementing these hikes until after the elections has raised suspicions about the government’s intentions.

Overall, the CPI(M) condemned the government’s actions as detrimental to the public’s interests and called for a more thoughtful approach to economic policies.
