The national tripartite committee on minimum wage, led by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, concluded a meeting with organised labour on Monday night. The meeting, which lasted from 5pm to just before 11pm, resulted in the signing of an agreement.

While specifics of the agreement remain undisclosed, Akume assured that President Bola Tinubu’s government is committed to implementing a minimum wage of over N60,000, ensuring no worker faces victimisation due to strikes, and scheduling daily meetings for the next week.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
