The Maldives government made the decision to ban Israelis from entering the country due to growing public anger over Israel’s actions in Gaza. The president’s office announced a change in laws to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the country and established a subcommittee to oversee the process.
Approximately 11,000 Israelis visit the Maldives annually, accounting for 0.6% of total tourist arrivals. This recent development has caused concern among Israeli travelers and highlights the diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
