Zelenskyy set to attend Singapore security summit – sources

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to make an appearance at the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore this weekend, amidst escalating tensions with Russia. Security assistance for Ukraine will be a significant topic of discussion at Asia’s premier security conference, with key figures such as U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chinese defense minister, Dong Jun, in attendance.

Zelenskyy is expected to deliver a speech at the conference on Saturday, although official sources have chosen to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the situation. The absence of a Russian delegation at the conference since 2022 highlights the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In a separate development, Zelenskyy, currently in Sweden, has expressed concerns about Russia’s attempts to disrupt a peace summit scheduled for June. The summit aims to garner international support for the withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of Ukraine’s borders.

The Shangri-La Dialogue, organized by the International Institute of Strategic Studies, will conclude on June 2, providing a platform for crucial discussions on global security.
