Netanyahu rejects Biden’s Gaza ceasefire plan.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu made a rare statement on Saturday, declaring that there would be no “permanent ceasefire” in Gaza until Hamas is destroyed and all hostages are freed. This comes amidst increasing pressure on President Biden for his support of Israel in the ongoing conflict, with a rising death toll in Gaza.

While Hamas has shown a willingness to consider the US ceasefire proposal, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid acknowledges the significance of Biden’s plan. Nearly 100 people were killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours, with over 82,400 wounded in the conflict.

The Biden plan involves a three-phase approach, starting with a six-week ceasefire and the release of some hostages. The subsequent phases include the release of all remaining hostages, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the reconstruction of the territory.

As tensions escalate in the region, the international community is closely watching the developments in Gaza, urging for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
