Karachi Commissioner Announces Establishment of 22 Cattle Markets for Eidul Adha 2024

Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi has announced the setting up of 22 cattle markets in seven districts of Karachi for Eidul Adha 2024, in a bid to curb illegal markets and ensure the smooth sale of sacrificial animals. The decision came after recommendations from the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and town authorities.

The markets will be spread across districts like South, Korangi, East, West, Central, Kemari, and Malir, with locations like Ahsanabad, TMC Sohrab Goth, and Sunday Bazar North Karachi being chosen for this purpose. Eidul Adha is expected to be celebrated on June 17, with holidays beginning from June 15.

Eidul Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, holds great significance in the Muslim community, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son. The festival involves the sacrifice of animals and sharing the meat with family members and the less fortunate.
