India’s exit polls predict Modi’s victory — RT India

The ruling National Democratic Alliance, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party, is projected to secure a majority in India’s parliamentary election. Early exit polls suggest that the alliance will comfortably win over 272 seats in the 543-seat lower house of parliament for the third consecutive time. The official results are set to be announced on June 4.

Modi’s government reforms have been credited with propelling India to become the world’s fifth-largest economy. The opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) failed to resonate with voters, according to Modi. The BJP’s primary challenger, the Indian National Congress Party, campaigned from a historically low position in this election.

Modi’s star campaigner status was evident as he held massive roadshows across the country, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi embarked on a 63-day march to connect with voters. The BJP’s election manifesto, ‘Modi ki Guarantee,’ outlined their vision for the country’s future.

Despite the success in exit polls, the official tally will determine the course of India’s governance and economic policies going forward.
