The IT Coalition for Ukraine, consisting of 12 European nations, secured a total of 58 million euros ($62.9 million) for Ukraine’s IT and cybersecurity defense capabilities, as announced by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry on May 31.

The coalition meeting in Tallinn this week resulted in additional contributions of 22 million euros ($23.8 million) from Luxembourg, Iceland, Estonia, and Belgium.

The coalition, established in September 2023 and led by Estonia and Luxembourg, aims to support Ukraine’s Defense Ministry and Armed Forces’ IT infrastructure over the next six years. The funding will primarily focus on the development of the Oberih database in Ukraine.

With ongoing cyberattacks from Russia, the coalition’s expansion to include 13 nations, including Spain, reflects a commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s digital defense capabilities. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov expressed confidence in attracting more partners for digitizing the Armed Forces.
