In response to the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional announcements from Republika Srpska (RS) about the peaceful separation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s entities, Chairman of the Presidency Denis Bećirović condemned the idea as an attack on peace and the state. He emphasized that no entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina will entertain discussions on disintegration, as the sovereignty and continuity of the state are protected by international and national laws.
Bećirović emphasized the importance of upholding the constitutional order and warned that those advocating for disintegration may face severe consequences. He highlighted the dangerous implications of such proposals, emphasizing that terms like “peaceful disassociation” are euphemisms for destructive intentions that threaten the peace process and the region.
He outlined various reasons, including legal, historical, moral, and economic factors, for preserving Bosnia and Herzegovina’s unity and warned of the potential demographic collapse that could result from separatist actions. Bećirović made it clear that patriots and their allies will not allow the destruction of the state, firmly rejecting any attempts to break up the country.
