The Gombe State Police Command recently paraded suspects involved in the rape and defilement of minors. Among them was a 13-year-old boy accused of raping an eight-year-old girl, along with 18-year-old Usman Husseini and 45-year-old Mohammed Yaya for separate incidents of defilement.
According to ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the 13-year-old suspect dragged the victim to a secluded area while the others committed their crimes in different locations. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be prosecuted.
Abdullahi emphasized the government’s commitment to enforcing the Child Protection policy to address cases of abuse. The Department of Public Prosecutions is actively involved in tackling rape and related offenses.
It is crucial to raise awareness about such crimes and ensure that justice is served for the victims. Let us all work together to protect the vulnerable members of our society.
