US & UK air strikes target multiple sites in Yemen

The United States and Britain conducted air strikes in Yemen to target Houthi rebels and their ability to attack maritime shipping. Loud explosions were heard in Sanaa and Hodeida, with casualties reported in Taez.

The strikes aimed at degrading the rebels’ facilities involved in attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The US and British forces targeted 13 sites, including drone control facilities and anti-shipping command centers.

Despite previous strikes, the Houthis continue to target ships, claiming solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Recent attacks on vessels like the Laax and a ship carrying fertilizer have disrupted trade routes, prompting some companies to avoid the Red Sea route.

With tensions escalating, the conflict between the rebels, US, and British forces shows no signs of easing, affecting global trade and maritime security in the region.
