US Treasury Department has taken action to disrupt Iran’s production and proliferation of deadly UAVs, used by Russia and terrorist proxies against troops. Brian Nelson, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, emphasized this commitment.

Sanctions were imposed on four entities involved in procuring crucial parts for Iran’s drone program and an executive of Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO), a subsidiary of Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL). Afshin Khajeh Fard, IAIO’s chief, oversees drone and missile production efforts.

The move aims to curb Iran’s advancement in drone technology, which poses security threats to various countries. This strategic action by the US Treasury signifies a strong stand against the misuse of UAVs for destructive purposes.

Summary: US Treasury imposes sanctions on entities and individuals involved in Iran’s drone program to curb the production and proliferation of deadly UAVs used by Russia and terrorist proxies against troops.
