Trump campaign raises $35 million post-conviction

Trump campaign raises million post-conviction

Donald Trump’s campaign set a record-breaking day for online small-dollar donations, raising $35 million following his conviction in the New York hush money trial. Campaign aides credited the verdict for galvanizing Trump’s support and awakening the “MAGA movement like never before.”

The fundraising success on the platform WinRed doubled the campaign’s previous best, with 30% of the total coming from new donors. The campaign attributed the outpouring of support to patriots across the country who wanted to stand by Trump.

Despite the conviction on all 34 charges related to a sex scandal with Stormy Daniels, Trump’s team launched a fundraising page declaring him a “political prisoner.” The page crashed briefly due to the overwhelming support from Trump supporters.

Trump, known for turning scandal to his advantage, has painted himself as a martyr fighting against the so-called “deep state” and Biden’s administration. He has compared himself to Nelson Mandela and Jesus Christ, emphasizing his perceived persecution in the legal battle.

With Trump’s sentencing scheduled for July 11 and plans to appeal the verdict, the ongoing trials only seem to fuel his fundraising efforts and political narrative.
