Paris Olympics protected by Foreign Legion with pride

The French Foreign Legion, known for its elite status and storied history, is shifting its focus from deployments in Africa to security duty in Paris for the upcoming Olympic Games. The legionnaires are preparing on a military base in southern France before they head to the bustling streets of Paris for their security mission.

Despite being far from landmark attractions like the Eiffel Tower, the soldiers are gearing up to scan venues for any suspicious objects using dogs and drones. With a diverse corps of soldiers from 30 nationalities, communication is a challenge, but they are committed to working alongside police and private security for the safety of the Games.

The legionnaires, who can apply for French nationality after years of service, are ready to show their skills in the urban environment of Paris. Captain Aymeric is confident in the legion’s abilities, while Sergeant “Ganesh” from Nepal is proud to contribute to France’s security efforts.

The French Foreign Legion exemplifies loyalty and dedication, attracting individuals seeking a fresh start in life. As they gear up for their role in the Olympics, these soldiers are committed to serving with honour and fidelity.
