Government Slashes Petrol Prices: A Win for the Wallets of Pakistanis
Good news for motorists in Pakistan as the federal government recently announced a reduction in petrol prices by Rs 4.74 per litre for the upcoming fortnight. This decision, approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also included a decrease of Rs 3.86 per litre in diesel prices.
With this adjustment, the new price of petrol stands at Rs 268.36 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) now costs Rs 270.94 per litre. This move comes after a previous cut of Rs 15.39 per litre in petrol prices on May 15.
The Ministry of Finance made the changes following the Prime Minister’s nod. The revised rates aim to provide relief to the citizens, with light diesel now priced at Rs 161.17 per litre and kerosene oil at Rs 173.48 per litre.
Overall, this reduction in fuel prices is a welcome change that will put a smile on the faces of many Pakistanis and ease their financial burden.
