Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Gnel Sanosyan, and Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan recently toured areas in Tavush declared disaster zones due to flooding. Sanosyan shared their experience on Facebook, stating “We toured different parts of the disaster zone with HRD Anahit Manasyan and observed the damages.”
During the visit, Sanosyan showcased the rehabilitation efforts being undertaken in the affected regions to the HRD. The floods, which occurred on May 26 in Lori and Tavush regions, resulted in significant damage to houses, buildings, and infrastructure due to heavy rains and overflowing rivers. The government declared a disaster zone in the affected areas, with four casualties reported as a result of the natural disaster.
